"From Generation to Generation, The Vision Continues."

This is the theme that has been emanating from the Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, located on the East Side of Detroit, which was pastored by the late Rev. Ananias Davis for over 42 years. Under his leadership the church grew establishing many programs, ministries and sons in the gospel along the way. The crowning accomplishments of Rev. Davis' ministry were the completion of a new church edifice at the age of 90 and passing the leadership of the church he loved so much to his grandson which he raised from childhood.

That grandson is who has become known across the nations as Bishop Gregory Michael Davis, Sr. Saved at the age of 9 years old under his grandfather's ministry at Welcome, Bishop Davis is now the senior pastor of The River of Life Church in Wilmington, DE, the Bishop of his wife Pastor Kim Davis' church Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church in Downington, PA, The Bishop of Events and Planning for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship where he is a charter member under the leadership of his Father in the Gospel, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., the CEO of Greg Davis Ministries, Intl., the publisher of the Deliverance Now Magazine, producer of the Deliverance Now Television Broadcast as well as the host of The Word Network Television Show Rejoice in the Word with Bishop Greg Davis that features national and international ministers and gospel artists every week. Now, as Senior Pastor of Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Davis plans to continue with his grandfather's legacy to build and empower the membership, community and neighborhood where the church is located.

"My grandfather gave me the thing that he loved the most next to his wife...and that is Welcome Missionary Baptist Church," stated Bishop Davis at his inaugural banquet in Detroit on October 17, 2009, hosted by Radio Personality and long time supporter of Welcome MBC, Rev. Mother from WMUZ. "I vow to lead this church with the same love and passion that my grandfather had for the people of God."

As a commemoration to the late Rev. Ananias Davis, Bishop Davis and his team are gearing up to record a CD project of good old gospel songs that Rev. Davis and the congregation used to enjoy, during their 2010 Homecoming Celebration. The project will feature many great gospel artists and musicians as well as a 100 voice mass choir. The project will be released on Bishop Davis' new record label called "Oil of Joy Records" which is an imprint under the Alliant Music Group.
