Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
On May 7, 2009, God's World Superstore, one of the few "Mom & Pops" retail locations that specialize in all gospel music, celebrated 30 years of being a mainstay in the gospel music industry. Although we are one of the oldest and largest all gospel retailers still in business in the country, the journey has not always been easy. As many of you already know, the metropolitan Detroit area is in the midst of a financial meltdown. Detroit has developed into a city with one of the highest rates of unemployed citizens, and one of the most highly concentrated areas of foreclosed homes. Needless to say this has hurt God's World tremendously. Over the past two years God's World has been operating on sheer faith, and it is truly a miracle that we are still open today. But because of God's goodness, and the help of some of our industry friends, our doors are still open today.
Despite our past successes, I have always remained very humble and focused on the vision the Lord has given me. I have always tried to position myself to be able to help others when they are in need. Well, the tables have turned, and God's World is now the one in need. The current state of the economy, has really affected our business, and God's World is on the verge of closing its doors after 30 years of being in business. We have never been a company to ask for much, but we desperately need help NOW!!
On October 24, 2009 we will be holding a Benefit Concert to be held at Greater Emmanuel Institutional COGIC, in hopes of raising enough money to keep us from going out of business. We need to raise at least $100,000 to enable us to reposition ourselves in this continuously changing economy. This is where you come in; I am asking many of our patrons, loyal customers, and good friends to come to our rescue by not only attending this event for us, but we also need you to hopefully say a few words to encourage others to step up and help us in our time of need. We all play a role in helping keep the gospel music industry alive. We have always tried to do everything within our power to help any and everyone that ever expressed their need for help. Well now we're asking for your help...Please step up to the plate, and help us stay in business. We really hope you will be able to grace us with your presence, and we hope that you continue to support us with your prayers, because no matter what I will continue to honor God in all that I do.
