ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL GOSPEL MUSIC HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM ANNOUNCES
2005 INDUCTEES
DETROIT, February 22, 2005 — Aretha Franklin,
Rev. F.C. Barnes, Luther Barnes & The Sunset Jubilaires, John P.
Kee, Rev. Timothy Wright, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Rev. Dr. Lawrence C.
Roberts and Dr. Myles Munroe are this year’s inductees to the
International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The 2005 inductees, nominated from around the world and selected by
the IGMHFM board, were announced by founder David Gough in a guest appearance
on the TCT Network February 18. Brief bios of all inductees can be found
on the organization’s Web site, www.igmhf.org.

“We had our largest-ever online voter turnout this year,”
said Gough. “We have also been broadcasting the 2004 Induction
Special, which has increased awareness of the contributions made to
gospel music by so many individuals and groups over the years. The reach
of gospel music is truly global, and it is gratifying to see its influence
grow.”
The International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates its
10th anniversary this year. Its 9th annual induction and awards gala
will be held in Detroit on Saturday, October 22, 2005. Tickets are available
now: $75.00 in advance $100.00 at the door.
Nominees to the International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum
must have been involved in gospel music activities for at least 25 years.
Individuals, groups, choirs, quartets, broadcast personalities and promoters
are represented among past years’ inductees. Among more than 95
previous inductees are Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Della Reese, The
Dixie Hummingbirds, Dr. Bobby Jones and the Milton Brunson’s Thompson
Community Choir.

Founded in 1995 as a non-profit organization by DoRohn Entertainment’s
president and gospel artist David Gough, the International Gospel Music
Hall of Fame and Museum preserves and celebrates the work of the world's
legendary and influential gospel music artists and entertainers.
The museum, open for tours by appointment, is housed in the studios
of DoRohn Entertainment. Its collections include recordings, documents,
photographs and memorabilia. Archivists and music experts are also available
to assist students and researchers. Plans are now moving forward to
build a new facility for the Hall of Fame and Museum in Detroit.
