Detroit, MI… WJLB FM 98, Clear Channel Radio Detroit announces
that “Strong Inspirations” Host Deborah Smith Pollard has
been chosen as the “Gospel Announcer of the Year” for the
20th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards this Saturday, January 15, 2005,
in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
The prestigious Stellar Gospel Music Awards Show, the Grammy’s
of gospel music, is the longest running televised gospel awards show
in the world. This year’s show will be hosted this year by Yolanda
Adams, Donnie McClurkin and Tonex.
“We are extremely excited about Deborah Smith Pollard receiving
such a prestigious award. Deborah continues to be number one on the
airwaves, during her show, “Strong Inspirations”, which
can be heard every Sunday morning from 6 a.m.-10 a.m.” says WJLB’s
Program Director, K.J. Holiday.
Deborah Smith Pollard celebrated her 10th Anniversary this past November
with FM 98 WJLB as the host of “Strong Inspirations”. She
is well-respected in Detroit and across the country as one of the foremost
authorities on gospel music. For 22 years she has produced gospel concerts
including The McDonald’s GospelFest and the Motor City PraiseFest
in collaboration with “Watts Up, Inc.”
