Bishop Carl E. Holland

Interview

The column that I write for DetroitGospel.com is named Jubal’s Joint. This was taken from Genesis 4:20-21

20.and Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21.and his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

For the past 32 years I have had the pleasure of being the Jubal to a modern day Jabal, Bishop Carl E. Holland, Presiding Prelate of the Pentecostal Assembly of Believers.  I recently talked to Bishop Holland about his ministry and the PAB Convention being held in Detroit july 6 – july 10.

Carl B: How would you define the ministry that God has given you?

Bishop Holland: My ministry is bringing people to the fundamental awareness of their need of being born-again which is necessary to have eternal life. This can only be done by (a) repentance (b) water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and (c) receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance

Carl B: What made you decide to leave an organization you were a part of for over 40 years to launch the PAB?

Bishop Holland: After experiencing my life at an early age as a professional saxophonist, including playing the Apollo Theater at the early age of nineteen years of age; which included a cross-range of entertainers back in the fifty’s. To name just a few — Elvis Pressley, Johnny Mathis, Della Reese, James Moody, Chuck Berry,

Nancy Wilson, The Drifters, and on and on. As I was pursuing my career to be the course for my life, God provided for me an opportunity to understand what it takes to have eternal life. I received the spiritual change (the new birth) that Jesus came to bring, and consequently was a member of an organization which is the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. After 42 years of preparation, God sent me out to establish this organization the Pentecostal Assembly of Believers, Inc. Not to rival anyone, but to spread the good message.

Carl B: how long has the PAB been in existence and what is the goal of the PAB?

Bishop Holland: The Pentecostal Assembly of Believers is celebrating our tenth year. Our first convention was in Augusta, Georgia.   Our organizational theme is “Let Them See Jesus.” Our mission is to let the life-changing life be seen wherever we go.

Carl B: How many states does the PAB cover?

Bishop Holland: As a result of our recent website, pabinc.org, we are now experiencing bites from in and out of the country. As of now we are in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Phillipines (24 churches have just come in from 3 islands). Other “bites” are coming from Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Minnesota, etc.

Carl B: The PAB Convention will convene in Detroit, July 6th – July 10th. When people come to the convention what can they expect?

Carl B: In these tough economic times, what words of encouragement do you have for the DetroitGospel.com readers and what type of comfort may they find during the PAB Convention in Detroit?

Bishop Holland: To all of my DetroitGospel.com  readers, our theme is “Jesus” for such a time as this. Come and hear about a better and a deeper place “in Jesus” for such a time as this.
