St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, located at 11359 Dexter Avenue, in Detroit, Michigan, is fast approaching its 100th Anniversary. Leading up to the anniversary, members and friends were treated to an evening of anointed praise and worship by blessed ministers of God and the Gospel; each in their own gifts.  The evening started with Praise & Worship being led by Elder Charles Curry, of the Second Ebenezer Church, who set the atmosphere for worship.  Our emcee for the night was another one of God’s “holy-ghost” filled messengers, in the person of Evg. Renae’ Thomas of Perfecting Church.  She was like the Gospel Conductor on the Heaven-bound train taking a glorious trip to God’s Presence. The journey continued with the William M. White Male Chorus of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church who filled the temple with their testimonies of God’s goodness in song.

Split-N-Image Mime Ministry (twin brothers Erick & Derrick Gregory, my adopted nephews) came on board and slayed us by bringing the music to life while ministering to J. Moss’ Anointed and Tramaine Hawkins’ I Never Lost My Praise. My First Lady was up on her feet with the Tramaine Hawkins rendition and she shared that this song is her morning inspirational song….what a great choice!  The Praise train went higher with 21:03 as those young men came in and blessed the house with Cover Me, You, and Still Here. They also blessed us with some traditional hymns in between. God has His hands on those young men that I affectionately call my nephews too.

The culmination of the Heaven-bound train as it pulled into Heaven’s station arrived when Dr. Dorinda Clark Cole unleashed what God blessed her to record and share with us including I’m Still Here, Take It Back and more.  If you’ve ever had the opportunity to be in service with Dr. Cole, you know that you are going to get her ministry of preaching the Word in between songs, and this night was no different.  She shared from the depths of her heart and St. Paul will never be the same because of it.  Team Heavenly Treasures of the St. Paul A.M.E. Zion church blesses and honors Elder Charles Curry, our own Male Chorus, the phenomenal Split-N-Image Mimes, 21:03 from PAJAM Records and the incomparable Dr. Dorinda Clark Cole and her backup singers, along with our magnificent emcee, Evg. Renae’ Thomas for blessing our approaching Centennial Celebration with us. God’s richest blessings upon you all.
