Israel Houghton’s “Revolution Tour” hit Christian Tabernacle in Detroit on Thursday, September 23, 2010. It was a packed house with folks in the overflow rooms watching via the big screen. People were wrapped around the building before 6PM. Cars were coming from every direction, blocking streets, to get inside to participate in this free concert that promoted a “new revolution” and a special children’s organization in Africa.
Many gospel artists came out to support Israel including Carine, Larry Whitfield, and Stephanie Pride. Others in attendance were RocSpace’s Neechy; Christian Tab Concert Developer, Ryan Rutley; Bishop P.A. Brooks; and Pastor Greg Davis.
The host for the night was comedian John Gray. John Gray has a brand new DVD that will be sold in Walmart stores this month. He is also working on a movie with TJ Hemphill, who introduced Gray and mentioned that they had just flown in from filming in Los Angeles.
Israel autographed copies of his CD after the concert and met supporters. It was a very friendly environment. Pastor Mormon and First Lady Mormon were the host pastor and first lady.
