Gospel recording artist, Darick Rutley, along with Kingdom Wurx is gearing up for a “Literacy Benefit Concert” Friday April 15, 2011 at Kingdom Fellowship Christian Center in Pontiac, MI (the former First United Methodist Church) at 6:30. We are partnering with The Baldwin Center in Pontiac Michigan. They administer a program called the “Baldwin Stars Youth Program”. The Program is offered free of charge to students (K-12) living in the Pontiac area who are having difficulty in school. Five days a week after school, volunteers and staff work with up to 45 children. The focus is on increasing the children’s reading skills and comprehension. We seek to be a blessing to this organization.
Darick will host and perform a praise & worship concert which will be preceded by an overview of the partner organization. The concert will also feature Latin praise & worship artist, Daniel Nino (Holland MI). The admission for the concert will be (1) one book. The first 100 people that bring two (2) books will receive a free ticket to a Detroit Piston’s game. All of the books that are collected will be presented to the partner organization at the conclusion of the concert. Other partners for this event include Berea Family Tabernacle of Faith Church, Psalms Group Music Production, B Rut Productions, Hala’o Productions, MAB Media Group, and Parkwest Foundation, and Elam Barber Shop.
