Detroit’s own Sheard family; Bishop J. Drew, Karen Clark, Kierra, and J Drew II, have a new docu-series in the works for BET. In a recent interview, Kierra was quick to let everyone know that this is more a docu-series that a reality show, so it’s “not going to be trashy!” Instead, she says, it’s an opportunity for the world to see a faith-based family with married parents and siblings that get along well.

Detroiters have long been familiar with the dynamic Sheard family. Among many other titles, Bishop Sheard is the Senior Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ in Detroit. He has been married to First Lady Karen Clark Sheard for almost 20 years. Together, they launched the KaRew Record label a few years back. Karen Clark Sheard is a member of the legendary Clark Sisters and a soloist in her own right. Daughter, Kierra, and son, J Drew II have both followed in the footsteps of their musical mother, and iconic grandmother, Mattie Moss Clark.

The series will give viewers an inside look at how this extraordinary family successfully navigates and balances the church, and the gospel entertainment industry. The show premieres April 7th, 2013, on BET.
