As usual, one of Detroit's own is blowing up the gospel music charts. Deitrick Haddon's new release, "Masterpiece," is Billboard's #1 Gospel album the week of Nov. 28, 2015. Deitrick was spotted all over town last week promoting the project, and made a stop at God's World to sign autographs. Faithful supporters lined up to see Deitrick along with wife, Dominique, and their three beautiful children, including 2-month old, Deitrick, Jr. Click Here to check out photos and live coverage from the event.

Gospel artist and producer Larry Clark was among the supporters at Deitrick Haddon's CD signing for Masterpiece, and Larry talked with DetroitGospel.com about his upcoming Gospel Play, Hallelujah: The Journey of Larry Clark. The musical production, covering 4 generations of the legendary Clark Family, opens February 27th in Orlando, Florida, and of course, Detroit will be a stop along its journey. One of the soundtrack highlights is a duet with Larry and his grandmother, Mattie Moss Clark, on "Standing In the Need of Prayer," made possible through the wonders of modern technology.

Detroit, MI (November 20, 2015) - Today, award-winning singer, fashion designer and television star Kierra Sheard has released LED, an EP that had her teaming up with her brother, producer J. The title track, “LED,” has a strong sound and message that is sure to keep your head bobbing while listening. Other songs on the project include “Make Me Better,” “Oh Jesus” and “So Easy,” and all will have listeners transported to wherever the music leads them.

Congratulations go out to gospel artist Tim Bowman, Jr. and his lovely new bride, Brelyn, who were married on October 10th, 2015, in Maryland. Following their marriage, news of their pledge to remain abstinent until marriage, went viral on social media. In the aftermath, the two appeared on Good Morning America and Good Day DC, where they expressed their firmly held religious beliefs to keep their virginity until becoming husband and wife, and served as an encouragement to others who have made the same choice. Tim Bowman is the son of gospel/jazz guitarist Tim Bowman, Sr. and the nephew of gospel artist Vickie Winans. Brelyn is the daughter of Pastor Mike and First Lady Dee Dee Freeman of Spirit of Faith Christian Church in Maryland. Tim's latest single, "I'm Good" continues to climb the gospel charts.

The Washington Post recently reported that BeBe Winans will debut "Born for This: The BeBe Winans Story," in Atlanta this coming Spring. Winans is currently in Atlanta working on music for "Greenleaf," a new megachurch-set television series for Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network. BeBe's nephew and niece, Juan and Deborah Joy Winans, will play BeBe and CeCe in the new musical.

Native Detroiter and reality TV star, Kierra Sheard, is busy with her new clothing line for curvy girls, Eleven60. Kierra recently posted a video of her covering Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy." In the video Kierra explains how the modified lyrics apply to single Christian women. Radrick's beautiful acoustic guitar accompaniment and Kierra's powerful vocals are definitely worth checking out.

Homegrown gospel artist and "Preachers of L.A." reality star, Deitrick Haddon, recently introduced fans to his new son, Deitrick Haddon, Jr. via Facebook.
