Richardson Joyner Hosts Detroit Gospel.com was in the house at Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit where Donna Richardson Joyner hosted Pantene’s Total You Tour 2005. The Detroit stop was part of a 21-city health and wellness tour crossing the country. Donna, fitness guru and creator of the popular fitness video, "Sweating in the Spirit," assembled several of her "Sistah" girlfriends from all walks of life to talk, entertain, and encourage the ladies of the Detroit metropolitan area to take better care of themselves. Gospel artist, Yolanda Adams The stage was set with several comfortable couches on which the ladies sat for "girl talk." Along with Donna Richardson Joyner, other celebrity guests included Stellar and Grammy Award winning gospel artist, Yolanda Adams; rap artist, MC Lyte; Grammy Award winning artist, Regina Belle; Tom Joyner Morning Show cast member, Myra J; and Detroit Shock WNBA player, Swin Cash. The celebrity guests signed autographs, but more importantly, the "Sistas" took time to interact with the ladies from the "D" and showed them that they cared. Donna Richardson Joyner was also there to promote her top selling fitness video and DVD, "Sweating in the Spirit." This inspirational exercise and workout video is targeted to workout novices and the full-figured. The video is unique in that it features live performances from gospel artists such as Yolanda Adams, Shirley Murdoch, and Kirk Franklin. As a satisfied purchaser and user of Donna's wonderful exercise video, it was a pleasure to meet and speak with her on behalf of Detroit Gospel.com. She told me this was the sixth year of the tour, and that Pantene is the latest company to partner with her to get the message out that women need to take care of the inner person as well as their outer beauty. Briefly sharing her philosophy with me she said, "Your body is just like your car – if you stop taking care of your car, what happens??" To which I answered, "It stops running!" She went on to say that this is why they are touring the country, to let the ladies know a "Total You" starts from the inside out. Regina Belle Caring for ourselves is something we all need to make more time for, and with facials, manicures, health care product vendors and booths, giveaways, workout advice, and much more, the Total You Tour is an excellent way to begin. I am sure that all of the Detroit sisters present would agree that learning how to take better care of yourself physically, spiritually, and emotionally, from experts and "sistah-friends," is a great investment in the TOTAL YOU and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The Total You Tour has several more stops including Houston, DC, New York, and Atlanta before it wraps up on May 21st in Charlotte, NC.
