UGA-Detroit rep and Elyon Productions founder, Karen Hunt-Barker with gospel singer and co-host for the evening, DG.com's Brenda Underwood Detroit's Gospel Industry Mixes It Up Presented by the UGA Michigan Chapter, this free Gospel Music Industry Mixer brought together the artists of UGA, other independent gospel artists, and industry reps to meet, mix, and mingle with one another. Included among the guests were representatives from local recording labels, print and web media professionals, video producers, management, fashion designers and other gospel industry professionals.
The evening was punctuated by live performances from 2005 Dove nominated, God's Army (Warfare Entertainment); Sonnie Day (Rooted Records); Water (Corporate Kingdom Builders, Inc.); Larry Craig; Emazin & Good Son; La Rue Hill; The DRIZZLE; BA Warrior; The Convictor; REECO; and Melvin Golden.
Also in attendance were Larry and David Whitfield of the Whitfield Music Group, James Render of Motor City Praise Records, and members of Detroit Gospel.com including Carl B., Anthony Howard, and Renee'. The Mixer was held at Christian R.O.A.D Ministries with host pastor Welch, Elder Day and Sonnie Day Ministries. The church is located inside of Lewis College of Business auditorium at 17370 Meyers (Between 6 mile & Curtis) in Detroit, MI.
