Our roving reporter and photographer, Karen Hunt Barker, was along for the ride as Detroit’s own Deitrick Haddon held his CD Release party for “Church On The Moon.” Other notables in attendance were Kierra “Kiki” Sheard with fiance’ Pastor Welton Smith, “The Superman of Gospel” Eric Deon Taylor, and more.
Deitrick Haddon’s “Church on the Moon” CD Release Party was “Out of This World”! The night blasted off with prayer, and First Lady Damita Haddon hosted a trivia game, to get the party started.
As the crowd waited in anticipation for Deitrick to perform, he took to the stage in high spirits. Deitrick proceeded to introduce his guest artists to get the crowd up and stepping. His special guests included gospel rapper, Big Al, from the South, who can only be described as a “Rapper’s Delight.” Our own Vanessa Bell Armstrong’s Daughter, Melody Armstrong sung the crowd happy, and Deitrick’s good friend and artist in his own right, Sean Hardin gave an adrenaline rush performance, as he leaped through the crowd.
After Sean Hardin left the audience breathless, a very energetic, yet cool with swag, Dietrick Haddon grabbed the mic. In his athletic, urban attire he was ready to send the audience to the Moon. Deitrick told his DJ to turn up the volume as he sung the new songs from “Church On The Moon”, along with his right-hand man, Sean Hardin. Every song had you strapped in for the ride, as Dietrick sang, danced and praised God. Some of the songs from the new CD can also be heard in his new movie, “Blessed and Cursed.” “Church On the Moon” is a CD that takes you beyond this world, to our Heavenly Father, and listening to it, you never want to come back down.
