Detroiters and gospel sensations Vickie Winans, J. Moss, Kierra Sheard, and Karen Clark Sheard have all received 2010 Grammy Award nominations.
In the category of “Best Gospel Performance,” Karen Clark Sheard is nominated with Pastor Donnie McClurkin for “Wait On the Lord,” from Donnie’s latest project, We All Are One (Live In Detroit) on Verity Records. Karen’s daughter, Kierra Sheard, and first-cousin, J. Moss, are both nominated in the same category for “Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.” Kierra is nominated for Bold, Right, Life on EMI Gospel, and J. is nominated for Just James on GospoCentric/Verity Records. Kierra is also featured on “God In Me,” which received a songwriters Grammy nomination for “Best Gospel Song.” Vickie Winan’s latest project, How I Got Over on Destiny Joy Records, received a Grammy nod for “Best Traditional Gospel Album.”
