Detroit is celebrating as gospel music legends The Clark Sisters are set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026! The newest group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Recording and Sports Entertainment were revealed on the Walk of Fame website (walkoffaame.com) on July 2nd, 2025. The exciting news was also shared by gospel artist Kierra Sheard (daughter of Karen Clark Sheard, a member of The Clark Sisters) on her Facebook account. The growing number of “likes” across all social media outlets is an indicator of the joy and approval from gospel fans both locally and nationwide.

The Clark Sisters are world-renowned pioneers of contemporary gospel, who got their start in their hometown of Detroit in the 1960s. Comprised of sisters Jacky, Denise, Elbernita “Twinkie,” Dorinda, and Karen Clark, these uber-talented daughters of the influential Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, became renowned for their powerful vocals, innovative harmonies, and uplifting messages. Their classic hits, including “You Brought the Sunshine” and “Is My Living in Vain,” have inspired generations and crossed over into R&B and pop, influencing countless artists along the way. Over the years, The Clark Sisters have garnered numerous awards and honors for their outstanding contributions to music.
