DetroitGospel.com congratulates Larry A. Callahan Featuring S.O.G. (Selected of God) for their appearance in the Chrysler 200 Super Bowl commercial with fellow Detroiter Eminem. Larry Callahan and Selected of God were Detroit Regional “Best Small Choir” winners of the 2008 and 2009 Verizon Wireless “How Sweet The Sound” Choir competition and the choir represented Detroit in the 2009 Finals.
Chrysler’s Super Bowl commercial celebrating the city of Detroit and featuring Eminem was considered by many to be one of Super Bowl XLV’s best ads. It’s pretty safe to say that for Detroiters, it was THE Best. The 120-second spot, shown in the third quarter, brilliantly displayed the city’s crown jewels as it reminded viewers of its great automotive history, all to the pulsing beat of Eminem’s “Loose Yourself.” Towards the end of the ad as Eminem enters the Fox Theatre, viewers are also reminded of Detroit’s rich gospel heritage as Larry Callahan Featuring S.O.G. (Selected of God) are heard and seen rehearsing on the stage.
