We asked Lindsey & Jemika a few questions about the work that went into
creating Only One
Do you have any advice for
aspiring artists about the creative process and/or surmounting any hurdles
artists may encounter?
Lindsey:Try to find something that will set you apart. Since we’re twins, we have a unique advantage. We sound just alike, we’ve harmonized since we were small and our chemistry is great.
Think of ways that you can draw people to your ministry. When it comes to young people, introduce yourself as approachable, friendly, fresh while maintaining the Christian values. There are many hurdles to overcome in the gospel music industry. But over all the hurdles, you must keep integrity, grace, the spirit of excellence, and most importantly, God first.
What are some of the innovative ways you’re promoting your project?
Jemika:Some innovative ways that we’ve promoted our project have been through social media i.e. Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter. We believe social media is a HUGE FREE Resource that artists can use to introduce and expand their brand and publicize their projects. We also reached out to our current fan base to assist in promoting the single and used e-blasts and promo material throughout the web to announce our project.

Who is Lindsey and Jemika?
Lindsey and Jemika developed their love for singing at a very young age. At the tender age of 6, the Metro Detroit dynamic duo performed live on satellite television and since has had the opportunity to perform locally and nationally live concerts, live CD recordings, television programs as well as various weddings and church services.
Graduates of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Lindsey and Jemika has performed on various programs with many of the gospel industries greats such as: Vickie Winans: bgvs. On Woman to Woman (Angel of Mine), Rance Allen, Marcus Cole, Dorothy Norwood, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Twinkie Clark, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Marvin Winans, Carvin Winans, Daniel Winans, the late Ron Winans, LaShun Pace, Beverly Crawford, Dr. Leonard Scott, the late Chris Jones, and Darius Twyman, and have performed on TCT (Christian Telvision) numerous times.
Lindsey and Jemika released their debut album, Count It All Joy in 2004, which brought an edgy and new sound to the gospel industry. The album’s focus was to build the young generation and also touch the hearts of all generations.
Maturing in sound, tone and overall quality, the ladies are currently in the studio working on their sophomore album, which includes their debut single “Only One”. The sophomore album will showcase their growth as singers as well as writers.
