God’s World did it up big on Sunday, January 23, 2005, at the Music Hall in Detroit as it presented an extraordinary gospel concert, that featured some of the world’s most talented gospel music artists, during Motown Winter Blast 2005. And of course, you know “Detroit Gospel.com” was in the house representin’. Motown Winter Blast 2005 was a precursor to the big celebration as Detroit hosts Super Bowl XL at Ford Field in downtown Detroit in 2006. Motown Winter Blast had something for everybody, great music, outdoor activities, food, and more. And with Detroit being known as the “gospel music capital of the world,” they had to assemble the best for the Motown Winter Blast Gospel Concert.

The concert featured Stellar Award winning artists Vickie Winans, Deitrick Haddon, and Karen Clark-Sheard (of the legendary Clark Sisters), J Moss, and the 2004 winner of the“Oprah Winfrey Pop Star Challenge,” LaShell Griffin. This was, without a doubt, an evening to remember for gospel music fans that braved the arctic blast that hit Detroit the day before.

The evening started out with LaShell Griffin as she belted out her latest hits from her CD entitled “Free.” Next, the crowd was singing and dancing on their feet to the sounds of the impeccable Karen Clark-Sheard who sang such hits as “Glorious” from her Stellar Award nominated CD, “The Heavens Are Telling.” Teenage gospel sensation, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, was also on stage, singing backup for her mother. Karen’s 1st cousin, J Moss, followed her to the stage. Arguably one of the hottest gospel artists on the planet right now, J Moss ministered to the crowd as he sang, “We Must Praise,” “Living 4,” “Me Again,” and other songs from his hot new release, “The J Moss Project.” Then the crowd was on their feet again for the lively and energetic, Deitrick Haddon, who sang, “God is Good,” “Unity,” and more from “Crossroads” and “Lost And Found.” The last artist to the stage on this exhilarating, praise-packed evening was the hardest working woman in gospel music, Vickie Winans. In typical fashion, Vickie sang her heart out and testified to the goodness of God.
