Pastor Levell Baldridge invites you to New Birth COGIC’s inaugural service, this Sunday, December 4, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., in St. Clair Shores
Elder Levell Baldridge, a longtime friend of DetroitGospel.com, is now the pastor and founder of New Birth Church of God in Christ (COGIC). New Birth COGIC will be opening its doors this Sunday in St. Clair Shores.
We recently spoke with Elder Baldridge to find out more about the new church.
We began by asking him about his vision for New Birth and he told us that New Birth was founded on 2 Corinthians 5:17 which says “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
He went on to add that, “to change this world we have to start with families. You can have a lot of people in a house but that doesn’t make it a family. You cannot change the culture of this world without first changing the family.”
When asked who the church is targeting, Elder Baldridge quickly responded with “anyone from age 8 to 80 years old, married or single.”
We sense that he wants New Birth to be a church that ministers to the needs of its members and is serious about worshipping.
Elder Baldridge says, “We want to be a ministry that is transparent. We must stop putting band-aids on problems, we must repair the breach.”
During our brief conversation we could sense a genuine excitement in Elder Baldridge’s voice as the opening service approaches.
The inaugural service for New Birth COGIC will be December 4th, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. at 24036 Greater Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores, MI.
