Nineteen year old Flint, MI native, Antwaun Stanley’s debut CD “I Can Do Anything” (Bajada Records) has landed at #22 on Billboard magazine’s gospel album sales chart. Antwaun’s soulful radio single, “Teach Me,” is gaining momentum at radio while his video of the same tune is beginning to garner airplay on BET and other video channels.
The message of the song revolves around the theme of learning to hear the voice of God and letting that voice guide us to make the right decisions in life. The tune was produced by the PAJAM team and features J. Moss’ trademark backing vocals.
“It’s a young style of music but it’s worship,” Antwaun says of the project. “I’m really giving praise to God, just a young person acknowledging this style of worship. I think it’s sort of a young thing. Worship is a different level; you actually go out there and communicate with God. You don’t just go out there and sing.”
When he’s not on the road doing concerts or visiting his mentor Bishop Andrew Merritt’s Straightgate Church in Detroit, Stanley can be found with his head in the books as he starts his sophomore year as a music student at the University of Michigan.
