Homegrown gospel artist and Preachers of L.A. reality
star, Deitrick Haddon, recently introduced fans to his new son,
Deitrick Haddon, Jr. via Facebook. This is Haddon’s first son and on a
recent post Deitrick wrote, “It’s my job to raise him to be a much
better version of me!” Deitrick is also busy in the studio working on a
new album.

Another native Detroiter and reality TV star, Kierra Sheard, is busy with her new clothing line for curvy girls, Eleven60.
Kierra recently posted a video of her covering Beyonce’s “If I Were A
Boy.” In the video Kierra explains how the modified lyrics apply to
single Christian women. The beautiful acoustic guitar accompaniment and
Kierra’s powerful vocals are definitely worth checking out.

The latest DetroitGospel.com and Rhythm & Praise with Deborah Smith Pollard Spotlight Artist is singer, songwriter and guitarist Al Bettis. Al’s new single, “So Good,” is scheduled to drop October 27th, with the album entitled “Everywhere and Nowhere,” due out in 2016.

biggest Gospel tour of the year is coming to Joe Louis Arena on Sat.,
Nov. 14, at 8PM. Festival of Praise’s Detroit stop features Israel
Houghton, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, Isaac Carree,
Jessica Reedy, Zacardi Cortez, and comedian Marcus Wiley (lineup subject

Donnie
McClurkin’s name was recently referenced in a questionable manner on
the season premiere of the Fox Series, “Empire.” In a Facebook post,
McClurkin took the high road and wrote, “What might have been meant for
evil, God uses for good!”

Lavell
Neal’s “Issues of Blood” is coming to Northwest Activity Center on
October 2nd through 4th. The new gospel musical, presented by Neal Down
Productions and Trinity Deliverance Church, features gospel recording
artist Gerard Brooks, comedian Dubble J, and many more.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, October 6th, for a musical stage drama debuting this upcoming March 2016.

Richard
Smallwood’s gospel classic,”Total Praise,” was sung for Pope Francis’
historic visit to The White House. Smallwood is quoted as saying, “This
has to go on the list of one of the top honors of my life.”
