Within arm’s reach of gospel music pioneers, such as the Winans and the Clark Sisters, truly shaped Clifton’s musical development. Many have become familiar with Clifton as one of the top contestants on season 2 of the nationally televised BET Sunday Best competition in 2009; since that time his musical career has continued to forge forward. This year he returned to the BET Sunday Best competition and is currently one of the Top 3 Finalist for their AllStar season.

Clifton has been privileged to share his music both nationally and internationally. From the Southfield High School Madrigals (MI), Mosaic Youth Theater (MI), Power of Praise youth choir (MI), Urban gospel trio Radically Encouraged About Life or R.E.A.L. (DC) to serving as the former Musical Director of the Howard University Gospel Choir (DC) and to his most recent assignment as one of the Musical Directors, alongside gospel music choir master, Ricky Dillard, at Ebenezer AME Church (in Maryland) where Rev. Drs. Grainger & JoAnn Browning are the Pastors — Clifton has shared with and grown among some of the most seasoned and talented. He often travels and ministers as a vocal coach, a workshop clinician, a background vocalist with Byron Cage and Vashawn Mitchell and he is also lead vocalist on their latest nationally released projects (Good Anyhow on Byron Cage – Memoirs of A Worshipper and His Record Is Good on Vashawn Mitchell Created 4 This).

Clifton is also a music teacher at Bryant Alternative School in Alexandria, VA. When asked about his life goals, Clifton confidently responds — “to complete the assignment.” And with this in mind, Clifton approaches every experience with a humble and grateful spirit. Currently, with great anticipation, he is preparing for the release of his new music. He is a vocal clinician and shares a series of vocal empowerment workshops throughout the nation weekly on his Empower Your Voice video log on his youtube channel (www.youtube.com/cliross). When asked what he wanted people to receive through his ministry, he responded very simply: Who you are, what you have inside of you, that which you are assigned to, is special and unique — embrace the greatness within you; it is God approved.
