BeBe Winans BeBe Winans released his first studio album in four years on Feb. 22, 2005. The songs on BeBe's inspirational album, "Dream," provide solace in these uncertain times.
Jacky Clark Chisholm Jacky Clark-Chisholm is scheduled to release her solo debut CD, "Expectancy, " on Detroit-based Entheos Records (Click for press release). The CD, produced by Carnell Murrell and Antun Foster, features guest appearances by The Clark Sisters and Ron Winans.

Aretha Franklin Presents A Four-Night Gospel Revival - Detroit News writer, Susan Whitall, reported in the Wednesday, June 22, 2005, edition that while the PraiseFest may be off, Aretha's plans for a 4-night, free gospel festival at Greater Emmanuel Church of God In Christ are definitely on. The BeBe Winans Radio Show Brings Detroit's Gospel To A National Audience

The BeBe Winans Radio Show in honor of Black Music Month, will be celebrating the Gospel Music of Detroit, the weekend of June 25-26, 2005. For this very special 3 hour show, joining BeBe in the studio will be Detroit artists Byron Cage, Fred Hammond, Tim Bowman, Deitrick Haddon, Jacky Clark Chisholm, CeCe Winans, Rance Allen, Karen Clark Sheard, and Ron Winans. In addition, all of the songs in this very special 3 hour show will be exclusively by Detroit artists.

Locally in Detroit, The BeBe Winans Radio Show is heard on WDMK 102.7, Sunday from 9AM to Noon. If you miss any part of the show, you can always listen to a replay the following week at www.BeBeRadio.com.

Annual PraiseFest In Jeopardy - Detroit Free Press music writer, Kelley L. Carter, reported in the Saturday, May 7, 2005, edition that the PraiseFest held annually in Hart Plaza is in jeopardy of being cancelled due to lack of financial support. Mike Watts, one of the PraiseFest's producers, noted that the budget to put on the festival is $200,000, and with only $100,000 raised, the dates for what would have been the 14th annual PraiseFest (June 10-12) have been returned to Hart Plaza. There is still a possibility that if the funds can be raised, the PraiseFest may be held at a later date. For the full article (including quotes from J. Brooks and LanghamMultiple-Award winning producer, Michael Brooks has started his own label, Michael Brooks Music, in collaboration with Joe Langham of Comin Atcha Music based in Boston, MA. The label will be distributed by PGE and Fontana/Universal. The first release on the Michael Brooks Music/Comin Atcha music label is a new group called “Michael Brooks & Royal Priesthood.” The project is scheduled to be released August 2, 2005. We recently received an email correspondence from former Motown recording artist, Bunny DeBarge. Bunny had a string of R&B hits in the 80's as part of the family singing group DeBarge and as a solo artist. Today, Bunny is busy sharing her testimony with churches in the Grand Rapids, MI area and is working on a book about her trials and triumphs in the music industry.
